Kahrs Oak Paris Oiled
Kahrs Oak Paris Oiled is a beautifully refined oak floor from the Capital Collection, produced using some of Kahrs’ finest selected oak. This is a calm-grade floor with an even colour, minor natural variation and only small knots in limited numbers, giving it a clean, sophisticated appearance without losing the warmth and authenticity of real timber.
Unlike more rustic oak floors, Oak Paris is about restraint and elegance. The grain is visible, the natural character is still present, but the overall look is calmer and more consistent. This makes it particularly well suited to contemporary interiors, modern renovations and spaces where the floor needs to feel premium, natural and quietly refined.
The soft natural oak tone brings warmth into the room without dominating the interior scheme. It works beautifully with warm whites, stone colours, soft neutrals, natural fabrics and simple architectural detailing.
Natural Oil Finish
Oak Paris is finished with natural oil, giving the floor a beautifully authentic look and feel. The oil penetrates the surface of the timber rather than sitting heavily on top, allowing the brushed grain and natural texture of the oak to remain visible and tactile.
This gives Oak Paris a softer, more organic appearance than many lacquered floors and helps preserve the natural beauty of the wood. Kahrs recommends oiling this floor immediately after installation to help protect the surface and seal the joints.

Kahrs Engineered Construction
Kahrs invented engineered wood flooring in 1941 and remain one of the world’s leading authorities on engineered timber floor construction. Oak Paris uses their premium 3-layer parquet construction, combining a 3.5mm oak wear layer with a stable pine and spruce core.
This multi-layer design makes the floor far more stable than traditional solid wood flooring, helping it cope with the temperature and humidity changes found in modern homes. It also makes Oak Paris suitable for use with underfloor heating.
The construction is also more sustainable, using premium oak where it matters most on the visible surface, while using faster-growing softwoods within the structural layers beneath.
Brushed Surface and Refined Oak Character
The brushed surface gently enhances the grain of the oak, adding subtle texture without making the floor feel rustic or heavily aged. This is important to the overall character of Oak Paris. It has texture and authenticity, but it remains clean, controlled and elegant.
The calm grading gives the floor a more consistent appearance than character-grade oak, with an even colour and only minor variation. Small knots may be present in limited numbers, but they remain discreet and do not interrupt the refined overall look.
Installation
Oak Paris features Kahrs’ advanced Woodloc® 5S joint system, designed for accurate, strong and reliable installation. The boards can be installed as a floating floor over a suitable underlay or glued directly to the subfloor where preferred.
The precision of the Woodloc® system is one of the reasons Kahrs flooring is so highly regarded by professional installers. It helps create a secure, stable and gap-free floor that performs beautifully over time.
Long-Term Performance
With a 15mm total thickness, 3.5mm hardwood wear layer and 30-year warranty, Oak Paris is designed as a long-term flooring investment. It can be re-sanded 2–3 times during its lifetime, allowing the floor to be refreshed years down the line if required.
As with all oiled wood floors, the surface should be maintained correctly over time. Regular care and occasional re-oiling will help preserve the richness of the timber and keep the floor looking its best.
Our Expert View
Oak Paris Oiled is a superb choice if you want a clean, premium oak floor with a softer and more natural feel than a lacquered alternative. The calm grading gives it a refined appearance, while the brushed and oiled surface keeps the floor feeling authentic and connected to the timber itself.
We particularly like Oak Paris in modern homes where the interior scheme is calm, warm and considered. It pairs beautifully with pale walls, natural stone, linen textures, soft neutral upholstery and contemporary furniture. It also works very well in open-plan living spaces where a heavily rustic floor might feel too busy.
This is not a floor designed to shout for attention. Its strength is in its subtlety: clean oak, beautiful proportions, premium construction and a finish that feels natural underfoot.
Having worked with Kahrs for many years, we continue to be impressed by how well they judge this type of floor. Oak Paris Oiled offers the sort of understated quality that looks better and more settled the longer you live with it.
