Kahrs Oak Earth Product Description
Kahrs Oak Earth is the moodier, more atmospheric member of this Artisan oak family. The smoked finish deepens the natural colour variation in the timber, creating a rich rustic expression with toasted highlights, darker contrasts, knots and cracks that give the floor real substance.
This is a floor with presence. The brushed grain and hand-scraped surface bring out the texture of the oak, while the four-sided bevels give each plank clear definition. Oak Earth works especially well in interiors where you want the floor to feel grounding, warm and characterful rather than pale or minimal.
Premium Nature Oil Finish
Oak Earth comes in a natural oil finish, which gives the floor a beautifully authentic surface and allows the oak to retain a tactile, natural feel. The oil protects the timber while enhancing the smoked tones and grain detail. Kährs recommend an extra coat of oil after installation to seal the joints. Over time, the oiled surface will develop a natural patina and can be re-oiled to refresh and protect the floor.

Innovative Kährs Click-Joint Installation
This floor comes with the innovative Kährs Woodloc® 5G click-joint for quick and easy installation. The click-joint allows each board to click and lock snugly into place beside its neighbour, creating a rigid, strong and gap-free floor without adhesive in a floating installation.
It can be installed as a floating floor over a suitable underlay, which can help provide acoustic and thermal insulation as well as a built-in damp proof membrane where required. The floor can also be glued down in situations where that is the preferred installation method.
Engineered by Kährs for Stability and Sustainability
The innovative multi-layer floor construction, invented by Kährs back in 1941, creates a real oak floor that is more stable, flexible and sustainable than using hardwood throughout the board from top to bottom.
Faster-growing softwoods such as spruce and pine are used in the lower, unseen layers of the floor. These timbers are less reactive to moisture and temperature change than hardwoods such as oak and walnut, while also giving the board the flexibility it needs to move naturally through the seasons without undermining the strength of the plank.
This construction also makes the floor suitable for use with underfloor heating and makes more efficient, environmentally responsible use of slower-growing, more valuable hardwood trees such as oak.
3.5mm Wear Layer and Long-Term Value
As a 15mm Kährs engineered floor, this product comes with a 3.5mm hardwood wear layer and can be re-sanded 2–3 times during its lifetime. Combined with Kährs’ 30 year warranty, this is a floor designed to look and perform beautifully for many years, making it a strong long-term investment rather than a short-term surface covering.
