Natural Oil Finish

Oak Dublin is finished with natural oil, one of the most authentic finishes available for real wood flooring.

Unlike lacquered surfaces that sit on top of the timber, oil penetrates the wood itself, enhancing the natural grain and allowing the oak to retain its tactile, organic character. This creates a softer, more natural appearance with a subtle low-sheen finish that showcases the beauty of the timber rather than masking it.

The oil finish also allows the floor to age gracefully over time, developing additional character as it matures. Kahrs recommends applying an additional coat of maintenance oil after installation to help protect the surface and seal the board joints.

The structure combines a premium 3.5mm oak wear layer with multiple layers of spruce and pine beneath. These softer, faster-growing timbers are naturally more tolerant of temperature and humidity fluctuations, allowing the floor to cope more effectively with seasonal changes.
