Kährs Oak Cornwall
Kährs Oak Cornwall is a beautifully charismatic engineered oak floor from the European Naturals Collection. It has the warmth and familiarity people love about natural oak, but with extra surface texture and a more defined plank look thanks to its brushed finish and four-sided bevelled edges.
Compared with smoother square-edge oak floors, Cornwall has a little more rustic charm and visual depth. The brushing draws out the natural grain of the oak, while the bevelled edges create that full plank look and feel when laid. The result is a floor that feels established, tactile and full of natural character without looking heavy or overworked.
Why choose Oak Cornwall?
In our experience, Cornwall is a strong choice for customers who want a classic oak floor with more texture than a completely smooth plank. It works particularly well in living rooms, dining spaces, hallways and open-plan areas where the flooring needs to add warmth and substance to the wider interior.
The natural oak colouring sits comfortably with both traditional and modern schemes. Pair it with soft neutrals, shaker-style kitchens, linen fabrics or warm metal finishes and it creates a relaxed, premium backdrop that should not date quickly.
Matt lacquer finish
The matt lacquered finish provides a protective surface against everyday wear and tear while helping to eliminate glare. It is a very practical choice for busy homes because it gives the floor a calm, natural look without the extra maintenance associated with an oiled surface.

Quick and easy installation with Woodloc® 5S
This floor comes with the innovative Kährs Woodloc® 5S click joint for quick and easy installation. Each board clicks and locks snugly into place beside its neighbour, helping create a rigid, strong and gap-free floor with no adhesive needed when fitted as a floating installation. It can be installed over suitable underlay to provide acoustic and thermal insulation, as well as a built-in damp proof membrane where required. The floor can also be glued down in situations where that is the preferred installation method.
Premium Kährs engineered construction
The innovative multi-layer floor construction, invented by Kährs back in 1941, creates a real oak floor that is more stable, flexible and sustainable than using hardwood throughout the full board construction. Faster-growing softwoods such as spruce and pine are used in the lower, unseen layers of the floor. These softwoods are less reactive to moisture and temperature than hardwoods such as oak and walnut, while also giving the plank the flexibility it needs to expand and contract naturally through the seasons without undermining its strength.
This construction also makes the floor suitable for underfloor heating and makes more efficient, environmentally responsible use of slower-growing, more valuable hardwood trees such as oak.
Built for long-term use
At 15mm thick with a 3.5mm hardwood wear layer, this floor is a serious long-term flooring investment. It can be re-sanded 2–3 times during its lifetime, which means the surface can be renewed in future rather than replaced. Combined with the 30-year Kährs warranty, this gives real reassurance that you are buying a floor designed to stand the test of time.
Our expert view
Oak Cornwall is the more textured and characterful choice when compared with Hampshire. The brushed grain and bevelled edges give it a stronger plank identity, making it ideal if you want your oak floor to feel more tactile, traditional and naturally expressive.
